Candle Care

Basic Candle Care

1.Before lighting you candle trim wick to 3/16 in (5mm) (or pinch the black charred peck off). This will reduce the candle from smoking and causing soot to fall inside the candle.
2.Place candle in safe area. Away from drafts or flammable materials.
3.Burn until wax pool reach to the edges. This prevents was from tuning and drowning the flame.
4. Only burn candles for a max of 4 hours at a time. Longer burns can cause the glass to overheat and break.
5.Never leave a burning candles unattended or within reach of pets and children.
6.Discontinue use of your candle when 1/2 inch of wax remain.

7.If wick becomes detached discontinue uses immediately!!!!

Troubleshooting: Smoking, High Flame, Or Tunneling.

If your wood wick candle is smoking, then there’s one of three potential issues at play. Smoking - visible smoke coming off the wick for an extended period - can be caused by:
The candle being positioned in the vicinity of a draught, near a window, or near air conditioning or an extractor fan;
The wick not being trimmed prior to use, as noted above, your wick should be trimmed between 3/16 (5mm) of an inch high prior to burning.
The candle has been burning for too long, and there’s too much wick exposed. DO NOT burn candles more than 4 hours.
In all three cases, we recommend extinguishing the candle safely, and correcting for the error above.
In the event that your candle is tunneling, or burrowing - that is, the area around the wick is recessing quicker than the outer edges of the candle, creating a situation where there’s a large and deepening hole in the edge of the candle - then this is caused by burning the candle for too short a window.
Each time you use your candle, you should burn it such that the wax pools to the edge of the container. Wood wick candles burn quicker than cotton wicks, and you’ll most often find that an hour of burning will achieve a full pool across the top of the candle. It’s very hard to correct for this error once the candle has been burned into a tunneling condition, so it’s important to observe this rule each time you burn the candle.
Our candles are thoroughly externally tested for every aspect of their performance. If there’s any issue with the performance of the candle, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
